The different slot keys are because there can be two different voltages for 64 bit PCI slots -- 5 volts dc and 3.3 volts dc. The 3.3 volt 64 bit PCI bus runs at 66MHz while the 5 volt 64 bit PCI bus runs at 33MHz. This enables you to place either a 32 bit PCI card or a 64 bit PCI card into the 5 volt, 33MHz 64 bit PCI slot.
