We ask that all our students pre-register with VUE before requesting an exam. Simply go to the VUE website and establish a login account. Make sure your address and phone number is current—you should revise it in your VUE profile if it changes.

Your instructor will help you schedule the exams provided in your tuition. You must provide your full name, complete current address (your certificate will be mailed to this address), phone number, e-mail address, and class number to your instructor for exam scheduling. Also give your instructor a preferred and backup date when you want to take the exam. (Form to fill out and give to your instructor.) Please submit your exam scheduling form at least two weeks before the date you wish to take the exam. The earlier you submit the form, the more likely you are to get your first choice of date and time! Any applicable exam fees must be paid prior to scheduling the exam.

Your instructor will return the form to you confirming the date/time for the exam. Additionally, you must take two IDs with you to the test center -- both must bear your signature and one must have your picture. Exams must be rescheduled or cancelled at least one business day prior to the exam (please keep this in mind in case an unusual situation arises where you cannot make your scheduled exam time). If you miss a scheduled exam date/time, the exam registration fee is forfeited.  SACMDA will not be responsible for missed exams for any reason, and the cost for rescheduling a missed exam will be borne by the student.  Plan to arrive for a scheduled exam 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time. 

In the event that a student fails any of the exams included in your tuition, the cost for retaking the exam will be borne by the student. We suggest that you schedule CompTIA exam retakes through SACMDA in order to get the discounted rate. Following successful completion of an exam, the testing center will provide an official completion document -- keep this in a safe place! Additionally, please bring it in so that we may make a copy of it for your student records. Providing certification certificates is the responsibility of the certifying organization -- please contact this agency for problems concerning receipt of certificates (SACMDA has no control concerning issuance of certificates). Certificates are normally sent by the certifying organization within 6-8 weeks following successful completion of the certification exam(s).

To schedule an exam other than those included in your tuition, you may establish an account with VUE (go to the the VUE website); you may also schedule an exam with Prometric (Prometric website). As an active SACMDA student, you can schedule any CompTIA exam through SACMDA and receive the discounted rate. We can accept MC/VISA credit card payment for both CompTIA and Microsoft exams.

Exams provided in CNS program tuition:

• A+ Core and A+ OS exams (initial attempt for each)
• Network+ exam (initial attempt)
• Two Microsoft MCP 72 series exams of your choice will have exam fees reimbursed to you upon providing evidence of successful exam completion (to be eligible for the 72 series exams, students must schedule through SACMDA) -- to file for reimbursement, you will need a copy of your receipt (showing $60 was paid) and your exam result sheet
• The student must complete the initial A+ Core/OS and Network+ prior to graduation
• To be eligible for 72 series MCP exam reimbursement, the student must file for reimbursement before 30 days following graduation

Exam Fees:

• CompTIA A+ exams are $93 each for current students
• CompTIA Network+, i-Net+, and Linux+ are $155 each for current students
• Microsoft 72 series exams are $60 for current students or graduates within 30 days after graduation
  • 72-210 - Windows 2000 Professional
  • 72-270 - Windows 2000 XP Professional
  • 72-215 - Windows 2000 Server
  • 72-290 - Windows 2003 Server
  • 72-218 - Windows 2000 Network Administration
  • 72-291 - Windows 2003 Network Administration
  • 72-292 - Upgrade MCSA on Windows 2000 to 2003
• Microsoft 70 series exams are $125 each

SACMDA VUE Test Center Hours:
NOTE: These are hours of operation, not test start hours. As a rough rule take the length of the exam and subtract it from the closing time to estimate the latest time that you may start the exam. A+ exams are currently 30 minutes each, the Network+ exam is 1 hour and 45 minutes, and the Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Server exams are 2 hours and 55 minutes each. Daily testing hours may be adjusted when other activities are scheduled in the testing center.

• Monday: 9:00 a.m through 5:00 p.m.
• Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.
• Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
• Thursday: 9:00 a.m. through 10:00 p.m.
• Friday: 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.
